Mexico - Baja California
Baja California in Mexico is quite simply the best place in the world to watch whales. Furthermore it has been described as the ‘Galapagos of Mexico’. The Sea of Cortez offers rich feeding grounds as well as areas of shelter along the Pacific coastline.
It is most famous for its close encounters with Grey Whales in San Ignacio Lagoon which alone are reason enough to visit, but it also plays host to a huge variety of other marine wildlife. In particular I had unforgettable experiences watching Humpback Whales and Blue Whales whilst visiting there in 2012.
